Neither of those actually! I just whipped the cream once for a few minutes, added the condensed milk (and vanilla), and then stuck it in the freezer during the night. The quantities and instructions are as follows: 500 ml of (very cold) heavy cream 300 ml of (also very cold) condensed milk A couple of tea spoons of vanilla extract Whip the cream until it's dense and you can form peaks with the whisk, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. The only thing left after that is to let it freeze overnight!
