Ice cream!

Yes, I do realize it's December. And yes, it was -2 degrees outside. But I had been wanting to try and make ice cream for ages and I finally had the spoons to do it.
It turned out pretty well! I was expecting it to be full of ice crystals but it was soft and creamy.

You have to share recipe & technique! Did you use an ice cream maker, or take it out of the freezer and whip at regular intervals?

Neither of those actually! I just whipped the cream once for a few minutes, added the condensed milk (and vanilla), and then stuck it in the freezer during the night. The quantities and instructions are as follows:
500 ml of (very cold) heavy cream
300 ml of (also very cold) condensed milk
A couple of tea spoons of vanilla extract
Whip the cream until it's dense and you can form peaks with the whisk, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. The only thing left after that is to let it freeze overnight!

Oh, I’ve seen recipes like this, I’ll have to give this one a shot!

Also, it wasn’t until I saw the metric units that I realized—you meant -2 Celsius, not -2 Fahrenheit—I was going ‘huh it’s pretty arctic wherever they are!’
